Our Family Story

Chad and I met May 2006 in Salt Lake City while country dancing with friends. Not long after I joined his family for a vacation to Yellowstone where his brother proposed for Chad, and we have been together ever since. Towards the end of the summer we decided to get married and began making our wedding plans. The official proposal didn't come until one month before the wedding when we were at the temple taking our wedding pictures (once the ring was finally ready). We were married for time and all eternity November 11, 2006 in the Salt Lake Temple. It was such a beautiful day. We honeymooned in Miami, Florida and then took a cruise to the Bahamas, we returned one week later eager to begin our new lives together. Chad began school once again and I returned to work. Not long after we were able to talk each other into the idea of starting a family, and we were blessed with a beautiful daughter. During my pregnancy we took a vacation to Disneyland (introducing Kate at an early age to rollercoasters). Once we were back Chad began training at the Utah State Prison as a Correctional Officer. October slowly rolled around and I was eager to finish my pregnancy! Kate Alicia Gollaher was born at 11:49pm on October 2, 2007 at the American Fork Hospital weighing 8lbs. 5oz. and measuring in at 18 1/2 inches long. What a beautiful baby girl! She is adored by everyone, and has become quite accustomed to being the center of attention. She has now celebrated her first Halloween (which she dressed up as a very cute chick for, and went trick-or-treating at only three weeks!), Thanksgiving, Christmas (where she officially became spoiled rotten!), New Years (she screamed her way into the new year) and now Valentines day. She is growing bigger every day and never ceases to amaze her mom and dad at all her talents! Chad has switched from the Prison and is now beginning a job as a sleep technician for a Neurologists office, which we are very excited for. Kate took her first real vacation with mom and dad to Las Vegas, where she enjoyed sleeping, eating, all the lights and noise, and swimming. Life is good, and hopefully I can keep up on this blog to share our families stories!
