Petting Zoo... Yahoo!

Last Friday I took Kate, and my little sister Anna to Thanksgiving Points petting zoo. Kate loved it, and was totally going nuts over all of the animals!
Here is her first face to face encounter with a cow! She even got to pet his nose!

My amazing photography skills don't exactly depict what is actually going on in this picture, so I will just tell you... Kate got to go on her first real pony ride!!! At first she was a little nervous, and didn't really want to stay on, so I had to hold her with both hands and walk in a million circles next to the pony (now I can sympathize with these poor animals!). By the end of the ride she did not want to get off, she absolutely loved it!!!
We also met a crazy goat, who was taller than me! It was so funny he followed us around next to the fence the whole time, and then stood up and peered over the fence at Kate.
... and what petting zoo trip wouldn't be complete without meeting a llama! It was hilarious, the llama kept trying to eat Kate's feet, and she was not sure what to think (not to mention that there was a "watch out I bite" sign right next to his head). We are still not sure why biting animals are in a petting zoo.
To complete our awesomely fun day we stopped at the pumpkin patch, (at Annas demands). Kate got to pick out a pumpkin, which we will have to save for about a month before we can carve it for halloween, but in the meantime it will make a great decoration!
Lucky Girls!!!

Mass Destruction

Just in case you had a hard time believing that this sweet little angel could destroy something, here is my proof!
... This is why she eats naked.
Kate definitely knows the good stuff!
... and her favorite past time, pulling every movie off the shelf.

Something New

Over the last couple of months Kate has enjoyed tearing the house apart, and especially the living room! Her latest favorite destructive activity includes pulling out all of the remotes and using them as a cell phone. What a funny girl. Chad is sure she has picked up this habit from mom, but I would like to think otherwise.
So as a small remedy to this tearing the house apart habit I took a little trip to Ikea (it was actually just to celebrate finishing my first semester of nursing school! Yahoo!) But we stumbled upon this super cute pink table, and we just had to get it! Once we got home we decided to try something new. I broke down and pulled out Kates cute little birthday stool (which was made by my great-uncle) and it went perfectly with her table. We brought out her favorite books and toys and hopefully she will be entertained enough to leave the rest of the house at peace! We'll see how it goes!!!

ode to an ipod

In one of my recent posts I talked about all of the cute naughty things that kate does, well I have a new naughty post that tops them all...

Monday afternoon I came home from school to find chad outside trying to "air out" my ipod! the first words out of my mouth were "what did you do to my ipod?" well Kate was playing in the bathroom and...

She decided that the ipod could use a little cleaning (I honestly do not know what goes through her mind) anyway, she tossed it in the toilet!!!

I knew that as a first time parent there would be lessons to learn but I did not realize how expensive these learning experiences would be! I heard that ipods make frowning faces when they die, and my ipod did not so I am hoping that I can take it somewhere to be fixed. (if anyone has suggestions please let me know)

and I thought this picture was appropriate, ha ha. Its a really good thing that kate is so cute!!!
Everyone cross their fingers for my poor little ipod, and I will let you know how it turns out.

state fair!

Today we ventured out to the state fair with my mom and some of my sisters, it was so fun! Here is Kate harassing the cute little bunnies (we are trying to convince Chad to let us get one in the spring).

Kate loves all of the attention from the aunts!
The crazy little goats were so fun to see, and Kate absolutely loved them!
She also really liked the sheepies until one of them tried to lick her hand, then she changed her mind pretty quick!
But I do have to say she was asking for a good hand licking, don't you think?
And of course you can't miss the piggies at the state fair. Kate was not the biggest fan of the piggies, I think she thought that they were sitting in a pig sty or something. And to my dismay we did not find Wilbur the pig. But aside from that small disappointment we had a blast!!!

im a big girl now!

Over the last week or two Kate has hit some serious milestones in her baby life! She is now walking all by herself! She has learned how to dance, clap, give high five, and wave bye bye!Oh yeah, and she is loving her formula (yes that is her formula scoop) she has also learned how to help herself to anything she wants. She loves to pose for pictures, anywhere, anytime! And as you can tell we have a difficult time keeping clothes on her. Its hard to believe that in a few weeks she will be one! Time flies when you have such a cute baby!
