I need to vent!

This week has been absolutely insane!!! Last week I finished midterms, this week I have added another twelve hour clinical for my mental health/psych class on top of classes and my regular med/surg clinical, aahhh. Luckily I absolutely love what I am doing and everything I am learning so in the end it is worth it... right? I had the opportunity to do this new rotation at a youth center that specializes in helping teens cope and recover from severe mental illness. I had the chance to read the charts of these teens I am working with and it just broke my heart to learn that the majority of these children are there as a result of physical, mental and/or sexual abuse. This has been quite the eye opener for me, as I am very naive. I wish there was some way to fix their problems and make it all disappear, as I have been thinking about this the last few days it has made me realize how lucky I am to have parents who love me and raised me in the gospel, teaching me that I have worth and potential. You really take this for granted until you see what a life is like without loving parents, and without a strong spiritual and moral foundation. Secondly I have also discovered this week that besides the parents who should not have been blessed with children there are some really slimy and greedy people out there. Recently I have been attempting to sell some unwanted items on craigslist and ksl and I have received numerous scam emails! This makes me so frustrated, and the worst one was a man who claimed he was out of town at a conference and he wanted me to ship this item to nigeria for "his daughter". I am a very trusting person but I just did not feel good about this, he even generated his own confirmation of payment emails from pay pal and then had the nerve to be overly rude to me when I refused to ship the item!!! What a jerk! So word to the wise, if you want to sell something just meet face to face with the person. Oh and dont worry I did report him. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, I just have alot to say and sometimes Kate does not make the best listener.

Ashley, don't ever ever ship something before you get payment for it and then even then if they send you a check make sure that it is good before you ship it! This type of fraud is seen a lot at the bank. People just don't understand that they are being taken. Utah has a high number of reports for this type of fraud and there are a lot of people who send the items or even the money back to the fraudsters and they loose big time. I just thought that you might want to know. Their is a Nigerian crime circle and they work a lot in Utah. They also do a lot of crime through e-mails claiming that you have won money and all you have to do is send them a small amount of money for the postage or give them your account number so they can send you the money. All scams!! Okay there is my venting. They drill this into our heads at work, sorry.
