emery ann gollaher

Our little Emery is finally here! We are already completely in love with her, Kate is her biggest fan. She was born Tuesday April 13th, 2010. I went in to be induced early tuesday morning, Chad was stuck in his lab (which his professor would not excuse him from) and finally arrived at the hospital around noon. My doctor was really nice and let me start the pitocin slow until Chad could make it. Once he arrived they were able to speed things up, things ended up going so fast that Chads mom and his sister Amber were not able to make it to the hospital in time and Kate was stuck in the delivery room, (luckily Alice and Wonderland made an excellent distraction in the corner for Kate that she was totally oblivious as to what was going on). One push and Emery was here, not to mention that my epidural had almost completely worn off at this point... ouch!
She weighed 6lbs 13oz (which was almost two pounds less than Kate!) and she was 19.5 inches tall. So far she has just been a little sweetheart, she hardly ever cries and is so easy to console. We hope she stays this way forever.
Kate loves being a big sister! She loves to give her little kisses and show her all of her toys. They are going to be best friends!
We were able to come home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon and so far things are going well. I forgot how fun newborns are, and also how much work they are! It is quite the transition getting used to two kids instead of just Kate, we have been so blessed to have so much help and love from family and friends! Thanks for all your love and support, and I will try to keep plenty of pics posted of our cute new addition.

the waiting game

So here is a quick baby update, I am officially getting induced on tuesday (the 13th), but today I visited my doctor and she stripped my membranes, which so far has equaled out to lots of random contractions but nothing too exciting yet. Poor chad is determined to get the baby out today, we walked all over provo this afternoon and every five minutes he asks me how im feeling, its very cute but I feel bad there is not much to report so far. Any suggestions for us? If not I suppose we can wait until tuesday. Hopefully my next post will be of our new little baby!
