maternity leave

My maternity leave has gone by too fast (although I still have two more weeks since the physician I work with is out on vacation). We have had a lot of fun with all the spare time, and Kate says every day "mom you're home from school!". Apparently she thinks I still go to school every day.

Today we went with my mom, sisters and grandma to Ephraim for Scandinavian Days, they had a lot of really cute booths, and Kate had a blast getting spoiled by grandmas!
She discovered one little booth full of dresses, purses and bows and charmed my grandma into buying her this dress, she also worked her charm on the owner of the booth and she gave her a free purse! I guess I need to take lessons from her.
This last week we met up with my cute cousin BrieAnn and her adorable little boy Braxton and went to the zoo. Kate loved it so much that I could never get her to sit in the stroller, we chased her around the entire day!
The favorite animal of the day was definitely the monkey! Kate will tell you all about them if you ask! She watched him swing around and carry his blanket in his mouth and thought it was hilarious!
Here is our picture to officially document Emery's first trip to the zoo! (she slept the whole time).

To celebrate Kate being totally potty trained my mom promised Kate that we would all go out for ice cream. Kate waited so patiently that she fell asleep and would not even wake up for a bite! So this is our proof that we actually did take her, and she really did get ice cream as promised.
Along with all the play, we have also had plenty of time to rest. I found Chad snoozing on his books last week, poor guy has been studying so hard for his dental application test, but he will do awesome!
Kate snuggled up in her chair for a nice afternoon nap.
And depending on the day this swing may or may not be Emery's favorite place to nap. She has now learned that it is more fun to have everyone hold her while she sleeps.
We also went up to the Gateway Childrens Museum with some of Kates BFF's Savannah and Emma. They had a blast!
It has been a fun six weeks so far and we have done alot of fun things. It will be hard to leave my girls and go back to work but it was a really nice break to adjust and welcome our adorable new addition to the family.
