Say Cheese!

So as you may already know, I have become a little picture happy since starting this blog. Especially now that Kate is so stinkin cute I just can't resist taking pictures of everything she does! So here are a few of my many pictures from the last week or two...
Kates new favorite treat is Nilla Wafers, we discovered this when the lady at Costco gave her a sample, and Kate gobbled the whole thing down! She has also learned to stand up and walk around her playpen, and she uses this tactic to wake me up in the morning by pulling my cell phone off the night stand. This box made a great play toy for about a day or two, and the best part was that she couldn't figure out how to get out (until it broke).
Kate loves to tease Chad by standing up by the table and sliding his favorite plant slowly towards the edge, she likes to see how far she can push it!
What a funny face! We tried to make her pose out by some roses and she thought it was hilarious! Happy Birthday Chad!!! Kate helped him open his presents...even before he was awake!
I threw a little birthday party for Chad with some friends, he had a blast!
Unfortunately for me I ran outside barefoot for a minute and got slimed by a giant slug!

Poor Chad had to scrub off the slime and it would not come off! He finally had to use an sos pad to scrape off the slime, it was SO disgusting!

It is back to school time for me! I started school about a week ago, its been an adjustment but I am loving it!

and last but not least my cute cousin Michelle got married last tuesday June 24, She married Bryce Bott and we are so excited for them!

e v e r y t h i n g e l s e . . .

First and foremost I would like all of you to know that I have finally done away with the bassinet! (now kate sleeps in a pack n play next to my bed, I am so pathetic). This change took place when Kate learned to tip it so it leans against the wall!
Kate has discovered some new talents in the last week or two, she now crawls and pulls herself up to the table (or whatever else she may come in contact with) and then she attempts to rip everything off the table and chew on it, and while she is chewing she forgets that she needs to hold on to the table and she tips over and cries, or if she doesn't tip over then mom or dad comes and takes away her chew toy and then she cries... and then she does it all over again. It has become a viscious cycle. She is also sporting two new teeth which brings us to a grand total of four teeth on the bottom! and my favorite new talent is her first word! Momma momma momma! She doesn't say much else nowadays and it has become a frustration for Chad, ha ha. I say "Kate who is your favorite?" and she says "momma" its so funny.
She has also taken a liking to laundry baskets as you can see. My mom and I were busy doing strawberry and raspberry jam and Kate was crawling all over the place so we got creative and found a way to contain her, and it worked until she discovered she could stand and hold onto the sides. One night we got creative and took a picnic down to utah lake to watch the sunset, it was beautiful, but a little cold.

Kate definitely was not the biggest fan of this idea because it was so cold but I think she might warm up to it as the weather warms up.And my cute cousin Michelle is getting married in six days and I get to do her hair! I am so excited! Doesn't she make a beautiful bride!
Well that is everything else that we have been up to!

f a t h e r s d a y . . .

So I got creative this year and got Chad a barbeque for fathers day. He likes to tease me because I am famous for not being able to keep a secret, but this time I was so proud of my self because I had it sitting in his old car for a month and managed to keep it a secret until six days before fathers day, ha ha. But I made up for the early surprise by doing a treasure hunt to find it, and he had no idea what it was leading to! So I kept it a good secret for awhile.
His cousin Jonathan was staying with us at the time which was a big help when we pulled out the instruction novel, but once it was all put together we had a fun bbq, yum!
On Sunday we had a bbq with my family and Kate enjoyed playing with the little cousins, aren't they cute! (Chad actually picked out her "fathers day dress").
We tried long and hard to get them to give kisses to Kate on the cheek and this was the best that we could do, but its still cute. Later that evening we visited Chads family. It was a very fun day, and we are both so lucky to have such great fathers to celebrate!

Goodbye Elder Gollaher

Last week we had the opportunity to drop Landan off at the Missionary Training Center, it was such a neat experience! He is going to be an excellent missionary!

What a good looking bunch! Chad and I, and especially Kate are really going to miss Landan!
We are so excited for you Landan, and the people in Mexico are so lucky to have you serving them for the next two years, you will be great! We love you!
