the waiting game

So here is a quick baby update, I am officially getting induced on tuesday (the 13th), but today I visited my doctor and she stripped my membranes, which so far has equaled out to lots of random contractions but nothing too exciting yet. Poor chad is determined to get the baby out today, we walked all over provo this afternoon and every five minutes he asks me how im feeling, its very cute but I feel bad there is not much to report so far. Any suggestions for us? If not I suppose we can wait until tuesday. Hopefully my next post will be of our new little baby!

summer

Last week I bought these sandals for Kate and I told her that they were for summer. Kate is now a very confused little girl... today I put her sandals on and she says "yay, now we go to summer!" She thinks that since she is wearing her sandals it is time to go to somewhere called "summer"- Help.

a day in the life of kate

Kate is getting so grown up lately, she tells me every day that she is ready for the baby to come out. I think she has it all figured out. She has started carrying around her baby and feeding it a bottle and changing its diaper, then she puts it in the baby swing that we have set up so the baby can take a nap. I just hope that she will be so helpful when the real baby comes home.

One of her new favorite things to do is to go bowling. It is hilarious, she puts the bowling ball on the floor and tries to push it, but usually it stops a few feet down the lane so Chad has to go get it and help her push the ball so it will make it all the way down.
And of course she is still obsessed with dora, luckily for my sanity she has now expanded her favorite cartoons to include a few more. Since we have had to do some re-arranging of our rooms to make a babys room, Kate now has all of her toys in her bedroom and has become very excited about playing kitchen and house in her room, which also helps with my sanity because it means less time watching "toons".
Kate is definitely a girly girl. She wants to play dress up every day, but she needs to have her jewelry, crown, purse and shoes along with the dress (or a hat in this case). It is really cute because she now has a friend- (Savannah) that moved in the apartment above us and she wants to play with her every day, they get along really well and both enjoy dressing up and playing anything girly. It makes me feel so old that I have a child old enough to enjoy playing with friends, and I go in to peek on her and she tells me to go away because they are playing. Time goes by so fast, so I guess it is time for the baby to come so I can have someone to mother again

scariest day ever!

Monday I took my state nursing boards (NCLEX)... scariest day ever! I felt like I was checking into prison. When I arrived at the testing center they proceeded to fingerprint me, then scan my palms, take my picture, check my pockets and pat me down. Then they explained that they can see and hear every move I make and if I need to go to the bathroom or even get up from my chair the little man has to escort me. (Not to freak you out before your test or anything). I had 75 questions and then the computer shut down. So I was officially done, but I didnt get to find out until today that I PASSED! Yahoo. I am finally done and officially an RN. It feels so good to finish and finally accomplish this.

baby date

So I know it is early but I went into by doctor last week and she scheduled my induction - woo hoo! She is going out of town the day I am actually due and she wanted to make sure she is around to deliver the baby, but since I am measuring a little small the soonest date she could schedule me is April 13th, so most likely that will be our new little baby's birthday (unless by some miracle I have this baby sooner). Things are starting to get really uncomfortable and I cant figure out how I can fit another seven weeks worth of baby in my belly! It must be possible because I did it with Kate. So that is my update for now - sorry no pictures though I am working on it :)

Graduation

Yesterday was my graduation ceremony for nursing school! There were two separate programs, the first is a "nursing" tradition called the pinning and candle lighting ceremony started by Florence Nightingale. It was fun to have a separate ceremony just for the students in my class. The next ceremony was the traditional graduation procession.
(The awesome graduation gown totally hid my big baby belly)
I was so spoiled to have so many people there to support me! All of my family, Chad's family and both sets of my grandparents came, it was so fun to see them and I am so lucky to have such great support! It is so nice to finally be done... well almost (I am scheduled to take my state boards on Feb 22nd- wish me luck). I have already started working full time so life continues to be busy but it is good!

life is good

Today I officially finished nursing school! I passed my final exit exam and am so relieved to finally be done! Now I just wait for my authorization to take my state boards and I am officially a nurse, yahoo! I can finally start doing things that I have been putting off the last couple of months... like blogging again :) I will also have to start working again, but fortunately I am lucky to get to stay at the pediatricians office and work as a nurse. Chad is busy studying for his dental admissions test and finishing his organic chemistry class. He will be done working next week which will allow him more time to study and be home with Kate. Things are starting to fall into place finally. My pregnancy is going very well, I feel guilty that it has been so easy this time around, and we have less than three months to go. So there is our quick family update, I will hopefully get some pictures posted from the last few months too. :)
